What an honor it was to be invited to share at the Ladies' Mother's Day Luncheon at Freedom Missionary Baptist Church in Richmond, Indiana, pastored by Pastor Jerry Smith. I am Joan Phipps — a pastor's wife, a mother of three grown children, and what my eleven grandchildren lovingly call Nina. My husband, Pastor Andy Phipps, planted Liberty Baptist Church in Muncie, Indiana in 2014, and God has been so faithful to bless and grow us and our little church in ways we never could have imagined.
When the invitation came to come and share with the ladies of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, my heart was full. There is nothing quite like a room full of women of faith gathered together to celebrate mothers and the God who made them.
Our Story
Ministry life is a beautiful calling — but it is also a stretching one. We have been blessed, but it has not always been easy. Isaiah 40:31 has carried me through many of those seasons — "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
It was out of that stretching that Kinsman & Company was born. As a pastor's wife, I found myself searching again and again for quality King James Version scripture products for church events, for gifts, for personal devotion — and coming up empty. One day I felt the Lord stir something in my heart. If you cannot find it, maybe you are supposed to create it. And so our little shop began.

To every mother, grandmother, Sunday school teacher, and woman who has poured her life into others — your faithfulness matters. The prayers prayed in the quiet of the night, the scripture written on little hearts, the example of a life lived for God — that is a legacy that will outlast us all.
